SDPS NEWSLETTER – Aug 2007
Well, it seems the weather really co-operated for the August 5th match, not too hot, not too cold it was just about right! We had 73 total shooters come out with 7 new to SDPS and 5 ladies shooting with us on August 5th.
I think the September 2nd match will probably be a bit warmer, but it shouldn’t be too not, hope to see you there.

Aug 5 SDPS Match Summary
This month Rich Fry was the match director and Bob Peake was the assistant. We also had help designing stages from Brian Meloy and Duane Chinnow.
Bay 1 was “Home from the Dr. Office” and you had to wear an eye patch over your strong hand eye. Bay 2 was “Bad Guys in the Alley” designed by Rich Fry. Bay 3 was a copy of a stage from the California Cup in Richmond and was called “SF Dine Out”. Bay 4 was “Thread the Needle” by Duane Chinnow, and Bay 5 was “Body Armor” by Bob Peake.
The only Class Champion to repeat this month was Mike Grant in CDP with 82.90 (20); Gayle Morse won ESP with 99.92 (9); Chad Case was back on top in SSP with 76.33 (16); and Steve McCormick won ESR with 113.891 (30). Cindy Tucker was the fast female shooter with 142.42 (39).
Chad had top score on three of the stages, with Mike Grant and Austin Neves picking up the other two best scores:
| Stage 1: 14.94
(5) |
|
| Stage 3: 11.90 (0) Austin Neves |
Stage 4: 18.74
(6) |
Stage 5:
11.23(2) |
The “Fantasy Shooter’s” score for the match would have been 74.84 down 17 so Chad was obviously very close with his 76.33 and down only 16.
The complete results are available at our website at www.sdps-idpa.org and follow the link to August Match Scores.
Stage of the Month
This I am awarding stage of the month to Brian Meloy’s “Home from the Doctors Office”. When he first proposed it I thought OK, not a big deal, I shoot with one eye closed anyway….but the reality of it was a lot more difficult (and fun) than I thought it would be and others seemed to enjoy the stage as will. Thanks for a great idea Brian!
Till we shoot again…..
Bob Peake
