SDPS is a defensive pistol shooting club that uses realistic scenarios, stock and near stock handguns and gear for competitive matches. We are affiliated with the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA), and are new shooter friendly! We hold a "New Shooter Safety Orientation" before the start of each match.

SDPS holds a match on the first Sunday of every month. Registration typically begins at 8:00 A.M., with shooting starting at 9:30 A.M. Matches are located at the Practical Pistol Range of the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center. Click here for directions to the the range.

Match Fees are $10.00 for First-Timers, $15.00 for SDPS members, $25.00 for non-members, and $5.00 for juniors (ages 12 to 20; must be accompanied by guardian). SDPS membership dues are $25 per year.

The Current Match Status display in the upper left of the page is used to let shooters know if the next scheduled match will proceed as normal (Go!), or will be cancelled (No Go!) due to weather or other reasons. The decision on the status of the next match is made at 6:00 PM local time on the Saturday prior to the match. Please check this site after that time to view the status of the match.
